This just came over the transom from the Tom Harman for Senate campaign:
Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman Endorses Re-election of Tom Harman
Huntington Beach, CA - One week after officially kicking-off his re-election efforts, Senator Tom Harman announced today that he has received the endorsement of Republican Leader Dick Ackerman.
"Tom Harman has been a strong Republican vote in the State Senate. He has been on the front lines of stopping runaway government spending and calling for a stop to government benefits for illegal immigrants. I proudly endorse him for re-election," said Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman.
Harman has served in the Legislature since 2000 and was most recently elected to the State Senate in 2006. While serving in the Legislature, Senator Harman has established a solid conservative voting record. "I believe the people of California pay more than their fair share of taxes and while I will continue to fight and advocate for lower taxes and less government spending, at the same time I will continue to provide residents with the customer service they deserve when they call their legislator's office for help. One of my top priorities has always been to maintain close contact with the residents of the 35th Senate District", stated Harman.
"For many years, Senator Ackerman and I have worked together advocating on behalf of the taxpayers of Orange County. I am proud to have his endorsement of our re-election efforts," said Senator Harman.
The Harman campaign continues to build momentum by collecting endorsements from fellow Legislators and local elected officials throughout the district.
Not exactly unexpected, but no doubt a comforting press release to send out with the specter of a primary challenge from Assemblyman Chuck DeVore still floating around.
