This has been lingering on the transom since Friday:
GOVERNOR’S SIGNATURE OF TWO MORE DUVALL BILLS BRINGS FIRST YEAR TOTAL TO FIVE
YORBA LINDA – Today, freshman Assemblyman Mike Duvall (R-Yorba Linda) took pleasure in looking back on a highly successful week which saw Governor Schwarzenegger sign three out of three Duvall bills, with the final two on eminent domain disclosure (AB 1322) and false vehicular registration (AB 1589) chaptered on Wednesday. This brings Assemblyman Duvall’s first year total of bills successfully chaptered into law to five, an astonishing minority party success rate of nearly one bill signed for every three proposed.
“I think this just goes to show you that conservatives can enjoy legislative success in Sacramento,” explained Assemblyman Duvall. “I went up to Sacramento with a conservative agenda and stuck to my principles. I didn’t become a moderate. I didn’t waiver. But I did make a point from the very beginning to schedule meetings with every single Democrat in the Assembly to find out where they came from and how they thought about things.”
A timeline of this year’s successes is as follows:AB 1639 (insurance licensing) was signed on Friday, July 20, 2007.
AB 522 (nonadmitted insurers) was signed on Friday, July 27, 2007.
AB 829 (aftermarket motorcycle parts) was signed on Monday, October 8, 2007.
AB 1322 (eminent domain disclosure) was signed on Wednesday, October 10, 2007.
AB 1589 (false vehicular registration) was signed on Wednesday, October 10, 2007.“I had a lot of fun defending the freedom of California residents and businesses this past year in Sacramento and I am very honored the voters of the Seventy-Second Assembly District sent me up there as their representative,” continued Duvall. “I had fun just meeting new people, making my case, and punching that ‘no’ button. Having these bills of mine signed by Governor Schwarzenegger is icing on the cake.”
I'd like to get in touch with Mr. Duvall. Could you please forward this on to him, if in fact he is the same Mike Duvall who grew up in Burbank, son of Frank, brother of Mary. My grandmother lived across the street from the Duvall family & I have some old photographs I'd like to get to Mary. Unfortunately, I have no address & no number. If in fact, this is the correct Mike Duvall, please tell him I still rememebr that orange Chevy Pickup he had.
