The Orange County Republican Party tonight unanimously passed a resolution asking Capistrano Unified Trustees Sheila Benecke, Mike Darnold, Marlene Draper and Duane Stiff to resign.
This unusual action by the Republican Party comes after a report by the Orange County District Attorney concluding that these trustees repeatedly held illegal meetings in violation of the Brown Act, discussed in more detail here, and at the CUSD recall website.
Wow,
A rare exhibition of responsibility by the OC GOP. Why did it take so long to get to this point?

This is a great start. CUSD still has administrators who are draining valuable resources. Giving paid days off to select employees, while harassing others. I expect we will have some legal action addressing this in the near future. Will the Fleming era managers be weeded out and retrained or replaced? Will the new Superintendent build a strong management team? Can the moral problem caused by the current managers be fixed? It will be interesting to see how this district evolves. Stay tuned.

Debbie Cook should replace Dana Rohrabacher for California’s 46th Congressional District
Dana Rohrabacher has the gall to claim he is taking the “high moral road” by suggesting that the US boycott the Olympics in China. (see Joe Segura in the Press Telegram, July 18, 2008) With his election coming up he is trying to get everyone to forget the many immoral stances he has taken by his unwavering supporting the failed Bush/Cheney policies. Rohrabacher whole heartedly supported Bush/Cheney for violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization, and subjecting our military personnel to unnecessary harm, debilitating injuries, and deaths.
His unwavering support of the Bush/Cheney failed energy policies is threatening our economy, security and environment. We need leaders that will scrap these failed ideas and launch a path toward energy independence and moral leadership.
Debbie Cook, his opponent in the upcoming congressional election will. She has fresh ideas based on sound thinking. (see Debbie Cook for congress, www.debbiecookforcongress.com/ )
PS: U.S. participation in the China Olympics is a good thing. As Debbie Cook says: “the games are a good opportunity to bridge the differences between the two cultures” (PressTelegram, July 18, 2008). Sports are a commonality to all cultures and are a good tool toward mutual harmony.
