This came over in the morning from the Neil Blais for Assembly campaign. I will re-post the entire thing, but maybe Mr. Blais can tell his consultant not to rewrite a lot of old information:
BLAIS GAINS ENDORSEMENT OF ORANGE COUNTY SUPERVISOR PAT BATES
(Santa Ana) - Popular Orange County Supervisor and former GOP Legislator Pat Bates is pleased to announce her endorsement for 71st Assembly District front-runner Neil Blais. She joins AD 71 incumbent Todd Spitzer, Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman, Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona, Orange County Supervisor Bill Campbell, former Senator Marian Bergeson, former GOP Chairman Mike Schroeder, and a long list of others supporting Blais.
"Neil Blais is a trusted conservative who will fight to keep taxes low and to reduce government waste," said Supervisor Bates. "Just as important, Neil Blais believes as I do that our state and local governments must make transportation a priority. Neil's work on the South Orange County Major Investment Study has helped ensure that Orange County is prepared for increased demands on our roads, and like me, Neil strongly believes any traffic improvements must include adding more highway lane miles. Neil and I have worked closely on traffic solutions here in Orange County, and I believe he has the insight and drive that will produce results. He is the voice we need in Sacramento fighting for transportation improvements, and I am proud to support him for Assembly."
The news of Supervisor Bates' endorsement came just after Neil Blais delivered the strongest performance of the night at the California Republican Assembly's candidate forum, the first candidate forum of the race.
"All the momentum is with the Blais campaign right now," said Blais Spokesman Tim Clark. "Some of Orange County's most trusted GOP names are now backing Neil Blais, and that's significant because three-quarters of the primary vote will come from Orange County."
Rancho Santa Margarita Councilman Neil Blais is a respected Republican who has earned a reputation on the City Council as a tough fiscal watchdog and rock-solid conservative. Additionally, Councilman Blais serves or has served on a number of local boards, including the Orange County Water Task Force, the Orange County Fire Authority, and the Trauma Intervention Program Advisory Committee.
Neil Blais is an acknowledged expert on disaster response and recovery management and hazard mitigation planning issues, and he has personally been involved in helping to rebuild communities throughout the United States following devastating catastrophes such as Hurricane Floyd and the Red River Flood of 1997.
