Time for a quick spin around the OC blogosphere:
Over at Orange Punch, Steve Greenhut posts about an LA Times article regarding SB 1019. The LAT articles find little to back up opponents claim that SB 1019 would put peace officers at risk. Steve also blogs -- here and here -- about Assemblymen Jose Solorio and Jim Silva co-sponsoring legislation to keep the Harbor Patrol in the hands of the OC Sheriff's Department -- and the hardball tactics the AOCDS is employing in the same cause.
Meanwhile, over at Total Buzz, Martin Wisckol has some more posts -- here and here -- about the possibility that Supervisor Janet Nguyen can cauterize one of the open wounds on her political prospects by settling the whole illegal legal defense fund issue with the California Fair Political Practices Commission. MArtin also has various posts on reaction to the commutation of Scooter Libby's sentence: here, here, here, here and here.
Over at TheLiberalOC.com, it's been turning into the DailyKosOC. Chris Prevatt, the Last Angry Bureaucrat, is waging a one-man-war on The FlashReport (I'm not sure if Jon has noticed). Chris and other denizens of the local liberal blogoshere wonder why everyone doesn't share their outrage over the Scooter Libby commutation. TheLiberalOC.com proprietor Mike Lawson comes through with a post that's actually related to Orange County.
Claudio over at Orange Juice salutes Lou Correa for his salutable decision to forgo his salary until a budget is approved. Sean Mill wonders if people's varying attitudes toward Barry Bonds and Lance Armstrong isn't...dum, dum, dum...racist! Art Pedroza's on-again/off-again political romance with Claudia Alvarez is off again. Art also excerpts a Raul Lowery Contreras column claiming "Latinos" won the War of Independence because a Spanish general bailed out George Washington at Yorktown (I didn't know there was such a thing as "Latinos" in the 18th Century) and about a "bad day" for Jose Solorio.
Over at JohnSeilerBlogs.com, former OC Register editorialist John Seiler set his keyboard ablaze yesterday with 12 blogposts on various topics in a single day.
Joe Shaw of Greetings From Downtown Huntington Beach posts on his goals as a Huntington beach Planning Commissioner and his parting thoughts to the Downtown BID Board.
