I didn't really know what to think about Attorney General Jerry Brown's decision to drop the case against bizarre former GOP congressional candidate Tan Nguyen. I haven't had time to really at the details (as Chris Prevatt did over at TheLiberalOC.com), so I'll not comment on the wisdom (or lack thereof) of Brown's decision.
It may be a legal exoneration, but by no means a moral one. And I'm not buying for a second Tan Nguyen's claim he knew nothing about the infamous letter. His comments at the time were self-contradicting about what he knew and when he knew it. Plus, given the character of his campaign -- a self-funded effort over which he seemed very much in control -- it's hard to believe some rogue staffer sent our an inflammatory mailer while keeping Tan completely.
And let's not forget Tan's visit to Registrar of Voters Neal Kelley a few weeks before the mailer went out, during which Tan expressed concern about illegal immigrants voting a la the Dornan-Sanchez contest in 1996.
But what really made my blood run cold was this line from today's Orange County Register story:
Asked if he might run for office again, he said, "You can bet on it."
Brrrr.
Still, who's to say where and as what Tan will run for office. After all, he ran as a Democrat in the 47th Congressional District in 2004 and as a Republican in the 47th CD in 2006. Maybe he'll flip back to the Democrat side and plow $200,000 into a primary race to take on Gary Miller in the general? It'd be fun to watch the Dems squirm on that one.
Yes. Please just fade away.
El partido republicano no desea asociarse a Tan Nguyen.

Squirm is right. Out ye damm spot.
But I think he want's another go at Loretta. You and Lucy Dunn have got Tan's blood up. He thinks the road to victory is numbered 241.
