This just came over the transom from the Neil Blais for Assembly campaign:
Neil Blais Consolidating Local Support in Orange County for 71st Assembly District Run
Rancho Santa Margarita Mayor Joins Others in Supporting Blais
(Rancho Santa Margarita) – Coming on the heels of a broad-based kickoff that netted over $75,000 in campaign support, today the Neil Blais for Assembly campaign announced the endorsement of Rancho Santa Margarita Mayor Tony Beall.
“Neil Blais is a true ‘mover and shaker,’ and Orange County Republicans are excited about his candidacy for Assembly,” said Mayor Beall. “He is a conservative who knows how to balance budgets and keep government spending under control. Neil will also fight to strengthen our border and bring this immigration problem under control.”
As Mayor of one of the 3rd largest cities in the 71st Assembly District, Mayor Beall joins a host of other local elected Republicans who support Neil Blais, including Mission Viejo Mayor Gail Reavis, who represents the district’s largest city.
“Neil Blais has received broad-based support from across the district, including major donors, activists and elected Republicans,” said Blais Spokesman Tim Clark. “He is quickly consolidating the Orange County Republican base in this seat.”
Neil Blais was active in the founding of Rancho Santa Margarita and is now is a respected member of that city’s Council, where he’s earned a reputation of being a tough fiscal watchdog and champion of conservative causes. Neil is also a fixture in the Orange County Republican Party, where he served for four years as the representative on the 71st District Central Committee and is currently a member of the Orange County Lincoln Club.
Neil and Destin Blais live in Rancho Santa Margarita, where they are raising their son Nash and are active in their local church. Neil Blais has retained the services of veteran GOP consultants JohnsonClark Associates and fundraiser Desiree Mouzoon to help in his Assembly race.
This has to be one of the most laughable press releases in a long time. Blais claims to be consolidating OC support because he got the endorsement of Rancho Santa Margarita Mayor Tony Beall. I did not know that Beall carried such gravitas.

Hey c'mon give him a break, it's a slow news week. Hacks need to earn a living too.

Odd that Mayor Reavis would not support her compatriot on the MV City Council, John Paul Ledesma in his efforts to win the Assembly seat.
