Nice story; glaring omissions of the left side of the Blogsphere and I'd hardly call Hugh Hewitt a "respected" expert on anything.

Hugh rocks

That's because you're big leftie who hates Hugh.

What left side of the OC blogosphere? Your dinky blog and a couple of lefties on Art's blog? Give me break -- when the Left OC blogosphere is anything more than a blackhead on the county's body politic, the Red County can commission a follow up article.

Mike Lawson

To "HUGH ROCKS": If the left's presence in the OC's blogosphere is merely a "blackhead on the..." then I still think that it is worth mentioning in a balanced story. If anything, there should be a mention of our blackheadedness.

To Dan: the magazine is called RED COUNTY...who is expecting balanced stories?

I also forgot to mention that I'm impressed with the overall design of your mag. Whoever you guys have working on page design, I'd suggest you keep.

Dan, Mike:

Many thanks for the compliments, boyos!

Huugh Rocks,

I would not expect to have my blog mentioned in Red County. We have several Republican writers, but our team of writers is quite diverse and we don't hew to any particular party line.

I am proud of what we are doing at the Orange Juice. I believe we have had an affect on OC politics, in our own way. If nothing else, the rousing discussions on our blog are a lot of fun.

Kudos to Matt and his crew for the PR. The Matt on Matt graphic was a neat trick...

Art, you must be on crack. NO ONE takes your blog seriously -- or at least not YOUR posts. When did you gin it up again -- a year and a half ago? And it's worse than it was then, while OC Blog is going places and even LiberalOC at least manages to look good.

Hey folks:

The fact that we have a variety of blogs in OC and that many of us post on all of them contributes to the political debate, even if it is just among the people who regularly blog. Both the Liberal OC and Orange Juice have an increased readership, and we have not been on the scene as Red County/OC Blog. I cannot compare the actual readership of Liberal OC to Red County because the numbers for Red County are not publicly available (hint), but I think we're all doing pretty well.

Coverage for any of us in other media helps grow the participation on all of our blogs.

Congrats Matt & team.

Chris,

Red County/OC Blog had 150,953 page views and 51,299 visitor sessions in November.

Mike -- If you look at the voting map of the old OC, it's actually a very Purple County. That said, I loved the photo of Matt and Jubal squaring off. Kind of a Parent Trap for the GOP.

And Art, I do like your site.

Hugh rocks!? Sure. And his book "Painting the Map Red" is in the remainder rack already.

Thanks for the stats Matt.

Quite impressive indeed.
