I also agree that reform and toll roads make more sense at this time. For a driver to change mode of travel, he/she must "feel the pain" of driving-as-usual. I took Metrolink because driving costs, including $50/month parking fees, finally exceeded the convenience factor. Tax incentives, like writing off bus/train fees, also make more sense than a new general tax. And I hate to bring up the halcyon days of the 1984 Olympics, but one or two of those measures, with appropriate tax incentives to employers and employees, deserve consideration. After years of Measure M and torn up freeways, we are still congested--so let's try something new!
