...but she was singing a different tune altogether in the spring time.
Peggy Lowe's article this past Sunday's on the Bates v. DeYoung race quoted Cassie thus:
"We want to be able to run our own campaign; I don't want any union support," she said.
"I don't want any union support." That's a pretty definitive statement. She didn't say, "I'd like a sprinkling of union support" or "I'd like the support of this union but not that union" -- Cassie DeYoung doesn't want any union support. At all. Nada.
Funny. This press release I received from Cassie DeYoung's campaign on April 24 expressed an entirely different sentiment toward union support:
Cathryn DeYoung expressed her appreciation for the Firefighters’ endorsement, saying, “I am proud to have the support of men and women who are willing to put their lives at risk to protect us. Throughout my career in local public office, I have always put public safety first and I will continue to do so as your 5th District Supervisor.”
Perhaps the OCPFA should oblige Cassie's sudden anti-union sentiment by rescinding its endorsement of her?
Has Cassie DeYoung been able to hold a constant position on anything other than her burning desire to be an OC Supervisor? If she manages to win, it would be like having a political Sybil in the 5th District seat.
RE: “Orange County’s Register Peggy Lowe's article this past Sunday's on the Bates v. DeYoung race quoted Cassie thus”
And for those with terrible tunnel vision who actually think that the Orange Country Register reports the truth, I have a bridge for sale. What, even its founder has gone on record to say that it is “impossible to tell what is true and what is right”!
Consistent with Wilbur F. Storey, editor of the Chicago Times in the 1840’s when he instructed the Peggy Lowe’s of his time: Write “..all fully all news you can get, and when there is no news, send rumors…”!
Actually, given the financial state of the Pâté Bates’ campaign, we have more ad space for sale, since her campaign is no longer able to pay for Jubal’s political “adporting”!

LOVE that line of reasoning! - you must be a soldier destined to go to Iraq, or recently returned from a tour of duty there!

Not sure if Kerry also referred to our generation as stupid, since we experienced the draft and the lottery – although with Kerry’s elitism, I can not be sure of anything.
But for what is worth, I was not drafted - I volunteered
And suffice it to say that my association was with the spook agencies…
