This just came over the transom from the Pat Bates for Supervisor campaign:
California Women’s Leadership Association PAC Announces the Endorsement of Patricia “Pat” Bates for Orange County Supervisor in the 5th District
Orange County, CA – The California Women’s Leadership Association (CWLA) political action committee (PAC) today announced its endorsement of Pat Bates for Orange County Supervisor in the 5th District in this June’s Primary Election. CWLA PAC considers a candidates position on taxes, business regulation, local control, and limited government.
“Pat Bates is an excellent choice for Orange County Supervisor,” said Susie Caskey, CWLA Orange County PAC Committee Member. “Pat’s a proven community leader. Her thoughtful leadership is exactly what Orange County needs on the Board of Supervisors and I am excited to see her expertise at work to change Orange County for the better. Her experience and guidance as Founder and first President of the CWLA has forever impacted our organization, and I know she will have that same effect as Supervisor.”
Pat has enjoyed many accomplishments in her political career: she led the cityhood effort for the City of Laguna Niguel in 1989 and was elected that city’s founding Mayor. She has a proven track record of assisting local government and fighting for local control as a City Councilmember and State Assemblymember. Pat is also a proponent for creative and practical solutions regarding the enormous traffic congestion challenges in Orange County.
CWLA PAC believes in the basic principles of conservatism, which emphasizes smaller government, individual freedom, responsibility and accountability, and views the government as a facilitator, not a regulator, in the private sector. CWLA is committed to bringing together influential women to effect meaningful change in our communities and our government through education and advocacy. We strive to identify and provide opportunities for women’s political involvement in their government and their community to enhance their quality of life. CWLA has chapters in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, Sacramento and San Diego.
The California Primary election is June 6, 2006. For more information, visit www.cwla.us or contact Jennifer Cowen-Fitzgerald at (714) 441-0200.
