Over at Powder Blue Report, Allan Bartlett posts a column he published on the California Republic, and ventures this astounding prediction for tonight's election:
I think Jim is going to shock people tonight with his showing. My prediction is:
- Gilchrist 38%
- Campbell 37%
- Young 23%
- Cohen 1%
- Tiritilli 1%
Clearly, Allan will not win an OC Blog coffee mug -- although I suspect Phil Paule may have spiked Allan's drinking water with a hallucinogenic.
I hope Mr. Bartlett is on track with his predictions. Powder Blue Report did a great job commenting on the unique significance of Jim Gilchrist's candidacy in this election, and the unmistakable signal it will send to Bush's open borders cabal if Gilchrist is our next House rep. Gilchrist has my support. This Republican is also voting for America first, to protect our culture, commuities, language and way of life.
John Campbell just does not get it. He stated on Hewitt's show that illegal immigration was his third highest priority, behind the war on terror and, if memory serves me right, the federal budget. Well, we in CA are paying $10 billion + each year for services for illegals. Why does Campbell just not get it.

Am I to understand that you think the border issue is more important than the War on Terror? I think you'll probably find yourself in the minority on that one.
Any rational person, especially any rational conservative, should have the War on Terror as the #1 priority. This leaves the #2 placement as the highest you could possibly give to illegal immigration. If it is #3 on Campbell's list, I'm willing to deal with that.
A portion of the immigration problem obviously falls under the blanket of "National Security" and would effectively be addressed by anyone stating the "Winning the War on Terror" as their #1 priority.
Gilchrist is a one trick pony who isn't even all that great at the one trick... I think it's Raymond and Mr. Bartlett who "just don't get it."

Just one more thing (in the Colombo voice):
I just read the entry powerbluereport wrote. I have some simple questions for him regarding the content.
So for the record... you don't believe that when John and Ken call Gilchrist a "Republican" that they are being a little misleading?
Do you also find it fine and dandy that they choose not to mention that Jim was invited to the Hugh Hewitt show, accepted, and then backed out scheduling a debate on the John and Ken show at the same time?
Does it not bother you either that Gilchrist refused debates for Hewitt's show, Medved's show, University of California Irvine, Tech Net, and the Orange County Register before Campbell declined to debate Gilchrist at any of his venues with one-sided moderators?
Do you think its honest of John and Ken to not mention this and mislead listeners into thinking it was Campbell doing all the ducking?
I think these questions deserve answers.

Actually I came closer to Campbell's actual result than most of you party over country kool aid drinkers. Who was that idiot that predicted Campbell at 69%? Stay off the drugs son.
