Pat Bates Endorsed by National Tax Limitation Committee President Lew Uhler
National Tax Reform Leader and Paycheck Protection Praises Bates Proven Record on Behalf of California Taxpayers

(Sacramento, CA) – National Tax Limitation Committee President Lew Uhler has endorsed former Assemblywoman Pat Bates for the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

Citing her proven record as a champion of taxpayer rights, Uhler called Bates “an outstanding conservative leader who will make sure Orange County taxpayers are a top priority for the Board of Supervisors.”

Uhler, a nationally recognized leader in the tax reform community, is also the author of Proposition 75, the paycheck protection initiative which would require public employee unions to obtain permission from their members prior to spending money on political campaigns.

“Pat Bates will make an excellent Supervisor for Orange County.  Her experience as a proven tax fighter in the Legislature will protect the taxpayers of Orange County, where she will make sure county tax dollars are not wasted or squandered,” Uhler said.

Commenting on the endorsement, Bates said, “I am proud to have the support of Lew Uhler.  His National Tax Limitation Committee has been instrumental throughout the years in helping protect taxpayers from big government and big spending politicians.  I look forward to working with him on matters involving Orange County taxpayers.”

Great to see Pat Bates, our first Mayor, running for the Board of Supervisors. She has always been a very thoughtful and effective representative, the exact opposite of her self-aggrandizing opponent, Cassie DeYoung.

• She has the smarts of Todd Spitzer without the overbearing ego.

• She has the victim’s rights credentials of Mike Corona without the extra curricular actives.

• She has the conservative credentials of Chuck DeVore without being Chuck DeVore.

The only knock on Pat Bates that sticks is that she has always hired notoriously weak staff. She can correct that problem the day she arrives on the 5th Floor by showing the current 5th District staff the route to the elevator and pressing the down button.
