The municipal chimes of freedom that have been ringing in Anaheim for the last three years are beginning to be heard in San Jose. FR Blogger Jennifer Nelson posts today about a proposal by San Jose Councilman Dave Cortese to initiate a business permit holiday -- an idea he openly credits to Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle.
Cortese told the paper that he was borrowing the permit holiday idea from the City of Anaheim, where Mayor Curt Pringle and his city council have held not only a permit holiday for businesses, but also a “Home Improvement Holiday” for homeowners.
As I've noted in some previous posts, other cities in OC -- and now possibly in Northern California -- are awakening to the success of Anaheim's experiment in liberty. Let's hope this upward percolation continues.
