Maybe you should preach ethics to the firefighters who were driving a paramedic truck around the OC Fairgrounds yesterday with "Yes on measure D" signs plastered all over it and their lights activated.

It was a County vehicle and I'm sure it was an On-duty fireman driving the vehicle....thats a great way to spend taxpayer dollars.

By the way the fairgrounds administrator did not authorize such a political display and the firefighters quickly departed when confronted.

If that is true you should report them. Driving govt. owned vehicles for political purposes is a federal offense. I would have thought you knew that being an officer of the law and all.

Blog Watcher,

It was resolved at the appropriate level. They knew what they did was wrong and my sources tell me they left in a hurry.

We disagree with the firefighters on meaure D and I think it was a poor decision, but I'm not looking to get anybody formally disciplined or fired.

For those that demanded a link/proof that the firefighters are in debt with their campaign... here it is...enjoy:

Hey GM. That was a good article. Do you know that many if not all campaigns plan on indebtedness? And that since this is an initiative there is no restriction on repayment like there is for candidates.

Now someone on another post mentioned your campaign manager is promised a hefty 'winning' bonus. Do you think it is possible that person is making sure there is money left in the bank so that he might get paid? If I were him, I know I would.

Hmmmm........

Sorry folks...all vehicles were privately owned and were being driven by off duty people or private citizens!

Glad it got your attention!!

Hey GM,

I surfed over into the firefighters website. I had no idea until now that Carona actually supports this.

Why didn't you tell me?

Blog Watcher

GM,

Just in case you haven't seen it, check it out here.

Carona supporting Measure D

OC Firestorm,

The paramedic truck at the Fairgrounds was not a privately owned truck and it was driven by guys in uniform....check again!

Blog Watcher:

Yes I'm aware we offered a bonus to our campaign manager and yes I'm aware your some campaigns operate on credit. The difference is that we plan our funds accordingly and the firefighters don't. Maybe that's why they are always crying poor.

Green Machine

By the way, I'm hearing the privately owned fire truck that was going through seal beach got ticketed by Seal Beach PD for bad brake lights. The firefighters subsequently went to the sunset beach firestation looking for replacement bulbs....I didn't know that the county paid for spare equipment on private vehicles.

GM, when someone tells me "I heard", it says to me that have no idea what their talking about.

It sounds like you know you're losing and are already making excuses.

For those that demanded a link/proof that the firefighters are in debt with their campaign...

I guess the real issue is so what! Like it has already been said, many campaigns run low on funds near the end. You’re just running out of material, Green. If you think you’re getting some kinda mileage with the public on this issue, I think you’re wasting your time!

Actually, I am glad you provided the link to that article. It actually bodes well for the firefighters, more so than the cops, giving fire the closing comments.

My favorite part of the article is where Wayne REFUSES to apologize to Joe Kerr for his comments that he (Wayne) was planning to release inmate in Coto and other south county neighborhoods. It’s too bad that a big guy like Wayne isn’t man enough to apologize. He owes Joe Kerr, CMDR Martin (who lives on the same street as Joe as is also a Sheriff Candidate, as well as all residents of OC an apology. Wayne’s comment about releasing dangerous criminals on to OC streets and his refusal to apologize turns the article against the cops, but you’re not smart enough to see it!

Every freeway I drove on this morning had a Yes on D banner.

Someone was very busy last night.

Yes, it appears people were busy last night! Multiple freeway overcrossing through out the county. Certainly more people saw fire's signs then saw the Sheriffs' auto mall sign. There Sheriff's sign was at the county line where half the people seeing the sign are LACO residents coming to and from work...now that's a bright idea! (DUH)

I just found out that Carona supports Measure B funds to fire fighters! Follow the link below!

Serge on the Tin Star Said:

The [LAT] article tells us the fire union president [Joe] Kerr was at home on Friday painting banners to be displayed over the weekend. (Brackets mine)

Well, we got plenty of eyes on our homemade banners today! You see, one of the big differences between fire and (some) cops is we care how we spend our members' money. For instance, we vote on dues increases, we just don't shove them down our members throats like you guys do.

Another big difference is that we're not afraid to get our hands dirty, but I guess that's the nature of our work. So, when Joe was busy painting signs, it's representative of how we as a group and a profession think and act. All members are willing to get in and get dirty and do whatever it takes to get the job done. Apparently some cops think their above it.

I guess that is where the term Girlyman comes from.

You must have had poor luck in Vegas...you're awfuly cranky as you get closer to the election.

Try not to be so testy. We're just pointing out the failure in your campaign...but don't worry, it'll all be over tomorrow and you can go back to struggling with your fully funded budget!

I didn't gamble...but I did see a show!

O-CRV Firestorm,

Are the real issues in this campaign about apologies to a bunch of firefighters? You seem to forget that the issue in this campaign was your little regional fire agency (43% ring a bell?) trying to rip off the citizens of the entire county.

And your great leader The Joekerr, you know the one you’d follow any where, is now taking you into extreme debt for a cause that had no hope. But that’s not anyone’s problem but your own.

This sheriff today does not have the authority to allocate the prop. 172 funds. The Joekerr was told this the first time he screwed over the deputy sheriffs, and he was told that this time when he attempted to screw them over again.

So come back with something witty and cute, maybe even with some more html copy and paste. But these facts remain the same. They still have not changed.

See How the Firefighters are going get out of debt. Amazing!

OC Fire Storm

I'm not sure what the h*ll you just said, but apparently you think you're Doc Holliday heading for the OK Corral. I think you need a reality check, little mister!

Sheriff Carona working overtime to stop reports he's a serial adulterer!

Blog Watcher

Hey Holliday.

Is there a reason why that type of information was never part of your campaign? Because it might have been more convincing than trying to tell me no one is going to answer a 911 call.

Your campaign was so extreme as to be not credible.

As usual, Blog Watcher, you were on the wrong side. Do you wonder why no one wants to talk to you?
