This blogger is getting all kinds of reports from the California Republican Convention in Sacramento going on this weekend.
Most notable was the Governor's speech to the packed house. The conservative majority that makes up the 1500 plus membership of the CRP has been increasingly pleased with the Guv's performance lately.
Lots of OC legislators stayed in Sacramento for the conv.:Ackerman, Mimi Walters, Chuck DeVore, Van Tran. Noticeably missing is Assemblyman Todd Spitzer (mostly because OC DA Tony Rackauckas is there). While I am not sure Tony is winning any votes up north, he certainly scored some points with the CWLA (Calif. Women's Leadership Assoc. gals) who hosted a rock'en party at a bar called the Dragonfly. Tony reportedly attended the event and was seen chatting it up with OC Sup. Chris Norby.
Hot off the presses is the results of the CRP Vice Chair South post which stays with OC Attorney/Huntington Beach resident Keith Carlson who was unopposed for re-election. Rumors are flying about this rising star's next move.
Yes, I caught Gov. Arnold on the radio on Thursday or Friday this week. I did note that he seems to be moving right.
Keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
Richard
