If my eyes read correctly, the Orange County Board of Supervisors could overturn one of their worst decisions ever tomorrow.
Their board agenda includes an item to give notice that the county is terminating the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) it instituted during the battle over MCAS El Toro/the airport. It was all part of the goal of ramming an airport down the throats of the voters. The pro-airport majority was willing to sell out our liberty for a long-shot at getting an airport.
The pro-airport majority signed a deal with the devil (aka unions) to insure they would get the construction contracts for everything on the base in exchange for support for an airport.
Flash forward to tomorrow...the item places on the agenda by Sup. Wilson (we appreciate it, but sorry Tom, it still doesn't redeem you for your sins), will certainly have the support of Sup. Norby (our one crusader for freedom on the board). I am just not sure who else will vote to terminate the PLA. Bill Campbell? He had a team of physicians extract his back-bone the day he got sworn in. Chuck Smith? Maybe, but since he voted for it the first time, I am not sure why he would reverse himself. Silva? He is in the toughest position of them all...voted for it, against his better judgment/philosophy. But voting to terminate it will bring the wrath of the unions in his bid for State Assembly.
My advice to Jim: stay home tomorrow. We don't expect that much of you anyway.
