Gustavo's Got a Blog!

Compadre de OC Blog Gustavo Arellano has re-started his own blog, "A Week In The Life Of Gustavo." All of us in the Blogpen have become big fans of Gustavo, not least because he is a big fan of us (it's all about mutual admiration). And it turns out we're not the only ones who love the "Ask A Mexican" column (by the way, I'd like to ask The Mexican what a "pocho" is? It's in the lyrics of Los Mocosos "Brown and Proud" and I'd like to know the meaning).

And don't forget to tune tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to KPCC-FM's "Air Talk with Larry Gilbert" for the OC Writer's Table, a panel featuring Gustavo, the LAT's Jean Pasco and the OCR's Chris Reed. It's 89.3 on your FM dial.

Hail the Blogs!

Once again, the Blogosphere has uncovered and illuminated a major international issue that might have otherwise gone uncovered or under reported.  Eason Jordan, Executive Vice President and Chief News Executive of CNN resigned Friday for remarks he made in Europe, actually accusing coalition forces in Iraq of targeting journalists.

As well, a number of major Bloggers immediately formed Easongate.com as a “clearinghouse” for the groundswell of information and opinion that erupted from the Internet over this incident.  Michelle Malkin, as usual, has also been excellent in covering this major black eye for the Clinton News Network.  It seems everyone involved even beat Drudge to the story.

Jordan can now join Dan Rather in glorious, overcompensated retirement as the result of an alert Blogger.

Cool Blog

I ran across this blog today called My Drunken Socks.

If I am ever in Austin, Texas, I want to party with this guy.
