This came over the transom last Friday from Sen. Lou Correa's office, but I forgot to post it:
Senator Correa Convenes Water Briefing
Rebuilding California’s infrastructure has become the major legislative discussion and solving our State’s many infrastructures is critical to sustaining our economy.
Senator Correa (D-Santa Ana) will convene a water briefing on Wednesday, October 31st from 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. He has invited Jeff Kightlinger, General Manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and other elected officials and business leaders, to join us in this discussion. The theme for the event will be:
How will we assess and adequately invest in local and statewide projects and programs that will sustain our water and other community needs into the future?
Discussions will include
- What will the outcome of the Governor’s special session mean to Orange County?
- Is the California State budget making appropriate investments in local and statewide projects and programs to support our transportation, housing and water reliability?
- What would happen to our infrastructure transportation and water needs in a major disaster?
This discussion will provide a wonderful opportunity to learn more about these critical infrastructure issues affecting our state and quality of life. Please join us for this informative briefing. A hosted breakfast by Metropolitan will begin promptly at 7:30am.
Seating for the breakfast is limited. Please RSVP by Friday, October 26th to Ashley Briskman at ashley.briskman@sen.ca.gov or by calling (714) 558-4400.
