Late Post On 9/11 Commemoration

I realize the 6th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks was 15 days ago, but since blogs aren't so bound by the news cycle I shall exercise my privilege as editor of this blog by posting about the commemoration organized by the UC Berkeley College Republicans.

Not coincidentally, my oldest daughter, Jubalette #1, is a sophomore at Berkeley (where she's majoring in Political Economy of Industrialized Societies) and is secretary of the Berkeley College Republicans.

The BCRs set up this Sept. 11th Memorial:

There is one American flag for each life lost that day in New York and Washington D.C. BCRs invited other campus groups to co-sponsor the memorial with them, and the Berkeley Cal Democrats and Berkeley NOW accepted (although the BCRs paid for materials and set it all up).

Needless to say, I'm very proud of Jubalette #1.

Not be to be overlooked is my equally talented second daughter, high school senior Jubalette #2, who produced this video (guest starring Jubalettes #3 and #4) for a class project. I posted it previously, but think it's very cool and wanted to share it again.

At first glance, I thought the widgets used to make the big 911 were beer cans. I guess we see what we want to see sometimes. It was Berkely after all. Upon closer inspection though, the widgets are indeed liitle American Flags. That was a nice touch.

Jubal-

That was really nice. Let Juballette know that if she wants to work with College Dems on events like this where both sides can come together, dont hesitate to ask me or any of our other College Dem leaders at the campus.

Tell her great work for me!
